Royal Reflections: A Look Back at Homecoming 2025
Homecoming was an unforgettable week filled with school spirit, beloved traditions, and a deep sense of belonging! A special thank you to our Campus Union Board for organizing exciting events like Stuff a Rex and Bingo Night, bringing students together for fun and connection. This year, we were thrilled to introduce a new tradition—the Homecoming Bonfire, co-hosted by Student Engagement, the Campus Union Board, and Title IX, creating a warm and memorable evening for all.
Student clubs and organizations showcased their pride and teamwork in the Homecoming Cup, a friendly competition featuring a banner contest, Minute to Win It challenges, and a photo contest at the bonfire. Congratulations to T2U – Transition to University, the winners of this year’s Homecoming Cup!
Our Homecoming Court honored student leaders passionate about service and philanthropy, each supporting causes that make a difference in the community:
🔹 Dean Campbell – Time Out Youth 🔹 Maria Duran Colin – Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy 🔹 Andrea Davidson – Make-A-Wish Foundation 🔹 Tanis James – Charlotte Rescue Mission’s Dove’s Nest Program 🔹 Gianna Mars – Camp Quality New Jersey 🔹 Becca Rager – Children’s Network Foundation 🔹 Stefan Sinanovic – The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation
A huge congratulations to our Homecoming Royals, Stefan and Tanis, who truly embody the Queens spirit!
We are incredibly proud of the energy, enthusiasm, and school pride our students displayed throughout this special week. Thank you to everyone who helped make Homecoming 2025 a celebration to remember!
Maximize Your Financial Aid: Complete the 2025-2026 FAFSA Today!
February is #FinancialAidAwarenessMonth, and now is the perfect time to ensure your student has access to the financial resources they need for the upcoming academic year.
Encourage your student to complete their 2025-2026 FAFSA as soon as possible to secure eligibility for federal grants, work-study opportunities, and student loans with lower interest rates and flexible repayment options.
Why is completing the FAFSA important?
It determines eligibility for need-based financial aid, including federal grants, work-study, and loans.
Many state and institutional aid programs also require a completed FAFSA.
The 2025-2026 FAFSA is now open and can be completed for free at StudentAid.gov
FAFSA Tip for Families
To streamline the application process, have 2023 tax documents and financial information ready before starting the FAFSA. This helps ensure accuracy and prevents delays in processing.
If your student needs assistance, they can visit the Student Financial Services office Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., on the first floor of Jernigan Hall or email sfs@queens.edu.
Thank you for supporting your student in securing financial aid for their education!

Advancement
QUnited kicked off on March 1 and culminates in Queens’ annual day of giving on Thursday, March 13. This celebration of generosity unites alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends to create a transformative impact on the Queens community.
This year, we’re asking our Queens community to meet the moment. We recognize today’s challenges and opportunities, rising together with bold action to ensure Queens remains a thriving institution for generations to come. By supporting scholarships, academic programs, or campus initiatives, your gift during QUnited helps empower future leaders, foster innovation, and sustain the vibrant community that defines Queens.
This is your chance to share your love for Queens and provide critical funding for the programs and initiatives that matter most to you. Together, we can empower today’s students to rise even higher.
