We’re excited to welcome you to Family & Friends Weekend 2024! Family & Friends Weekend is an exciting annual event at Queens University of Charlotte, offering students, families, and friends the opportunity to come together and experience the vibrant campus life. Throughout the weekend, you will enjoy a variety of activities, Fall Festival, sporting events, social gatherings, and special programs designed to showcase the university community. It’s a chance for families to reconnect, make lasting memories, and engage with the Queens experience in a fun, welcoming environment.

Registration

2024 Family & Friends Weekend t-shirts

Registration is $25 per person and includes a Family & Friends Weekend T-shirt, access to most events, and a memorable experience on campus. Please note that some events may require an additional fee or have limited space, so early registration is encouraged.

Be sure to complete your registration by October 18, with the final deadline on October 23 (though some events may fill up sooner). We can’t wait to see you for an unforgettable weekend!

Currently enrolled students can participate in Family & Friends Weekend for FREE! To join the fun, your student must register through the link that will be provided in their QNews email on October 8.

  1. Under New User, select ‘Register for a Program’.
  2. Select ‘2024 Family & Friends Weekend (October 25-27, 2024)’.
  3. Select ‘Continue’.
  4. Complete all required participant details.
  5. Select your T-shirt size.
  6. Select quantity for any add-on options, if desired.
  7. Select ‘Continue’ or ‘Register Another Person’ if you need to add additional participants.
  8. Accept or Decline the Registration Fee Protection option.
  9. Select the ‘Credit Card’ button and enter your credit card information.
  10. Select ‘Review’ to ensure all details are correct.
  11. Select ‘Complete Registration’ to finalize your submission.

Step into a new world of travel and tutoring using virtual reality (VR)! Use the meta quest to explore locations such as Machu Picchu, Paris, and more! See anatomy and physiology come to life as you explore the skeletal system! Engaging experiences in tutoring and travel are opportunities that all Queens students have access to. Come try it out!

Dessert Delights & Campus Insights
Join Queens University senior leadership, faculty, and staff for a delightful afternoon filled with delicious desserts and engaging conversations. This is a wonderful opportunity for families to connect with the campus community in a relaxed and sweet setting!

Menu includes: seasonal shortbreads, mini cheesecakes, chocolate truffles, lemonade, and iced water

Fall Festival
Hosted by the Campus Union Board
Enjoy an evening of fun fall activities, including games, music, food trucks, and seasonal treats. Great for the whole family!

Sip into Creativity
Hosted by QUAC (QU Art Club)
Relax and unwind while you paint a canvas, enjoy light refreshments, sip on wine and non-alcoholic beverages and listen to smooth jazz. All materials will be provided. Limited space available. Additional Registration is required. Includes 2 drink tickets.

Menu includes: fruit & cheese board display, lemonade, iced water, and choice of Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, or Pinot Grigio

Makin’ Cake
In her show, Makin’ Cake, Wisconsin Poet Laureate Dasha Kelly Hamilton uses the history of baking to explore race, culture, and class in a refreshing and fun way. It is multimedia storytelling filled with aha-moments and poignant vignettes, and two on-stage bakers serving engaging audiences in a conversation about equity in America. Part history lesson, part social science revelation, Makin’ Cake is a short story about America’s sweet tooth with a cake reception immediately following the performance. Get tickets now!

Join President Dan Lugo and Mrs. Tina Lugo for an informal coffee meet-and-greet. Meet university leadership and mingle with other families and friends.

Hosted by the DICE, Student Engagement, and the Vice President of Student Life
