As we wrap up another incredible academic year at Queens, we want to take a moment to celebrate all that your students have accomplished. From exciting campus traditions and meaningful leadership opportunities to academic achievements and personal growth, this year has been full of proud moments. Thank you for being an important part of their journey—we’re proud to be shaping the next generation of Royals together!
And the Rexy Goes To… A Celebration of Student Excellence
On Friday, April 11, Queens University of Charlotte rolled out the red carpet for the fourth annual Rexy Awards—a dazzling evening honoring the passion, talent, and dedication of our Royals across academics, athletics, leadership, and campus life. Hosted in the Sandra Levine Theatre, this year’s celebration kicked off with a captivating musical performance from Sweeney Todd by talented student performers, followed by inspiring remarks from Dr. Daniel Terry.
The Rexys brought together students, faculty, and staff to recognize those who embody excellence at Queens. With energy, joy, and heartfelt applause, we celebrated those who went above and beyond this academic year—from standout scholars and leaders to committed student employees and spirited athletes.
The evening also included a powerful performance by Donovan Perkins and closed with warm reflections from Vice President for Student Affairs & Dean of Students, Dr. Amber Slack.
The night ended with cake, laughter, and photos in the Gambrell Lobby—capturing moments of pride, gratitude, and celebration. Thank you to all who made the Rexys possible and congratulations to our outstanding winners!

Commencement 2025 Recap: A New Tradition Begins
Commencement 2025 was a day filled with pride, celebration, and unforgettable memories—made even more special as it marked the first time the ceremony was held in the Levine Center. This exciting new venue ushered in a fresh tradition at Queens, offering a beautiful and spirited setting to honor the achievements of the graduating class.
The Class of 2025 gathered alongside loved ones, faculty, and staff to reflect on their time at Queens and look ahead to their next chapter. From powerful speeches to the joyful moment of crossing the stage, this milestone celebration was a testament to the strength, perseverance, and heart of our Royal graduates.
We were also proud to recognize the 2025 Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award recipients: graduating senior Maggie Dineen ’25 and Dr. Sue Fields Ross ’61, a beloved alumna and devoted friend of the university. This prestigious award honors individuals who exemplify integrity, service, and a deep commitment to others. Both Maggie and Dr. Ross have made a lasting impact on the Queens and greater Charlotte communities, and we celebrate their inspiring contributions.

The Invisible String |It’s amazing how a single act of generosity can make such a difference—the ripple effect of our shared belief in a better future for others and our community. With donor support, we can extend the scholarship offers that bring the brightest minds to campus. With strategic investments in our infrastructure, we can adapt to the current market needs, providing a flexible, intuitive educational experience for developing real-world, hands-on skills. With funding for our faculty, we can enrich the classroom with a multitude of cultures and communities.
The Queens Fund is a source of innovation, security, and hope for a better tomorrow. It’s a part of every Royals’ experience, an invisible string that connects us to our past and propels us to our future.
Before our giving year ends on June 30, we invite you to be a part of it all—to write your own story in the next Queens chapter. For some, $25 is meaningful; for others, $250 or $2,500 is the right amount. Make a gift today.
