Learning Society Membership

Our members make it possible to bring dynamic speakers to Queens and the Charlotte community and broaden their impact through student-centered learning opportunities.

Membership is open to anyone interested and is offered on a yearly basis. Membership is offered at two levels: Annual Membership and President’s Circle Membership.

Membership Benefits

For the 2025-26 Season, we will be offering Household or Individual Membership options in addition to our President’s Circle Membership. Please revisit this webpage on July 1 to find our registration link!

Household Annual Members

Enjoy the following benefits:

  • Receive two tickets per event (fall & spring) with seating in the reserved member section
  • Access to private receptions before and after lectures, where members enjoy a variety of food, drinks, and plenty of time to dialogue on the topic of the evening
  • Signed copy of the speaker’s book will be mailed a month before the lecture, allowing members the opportunity to engage with the topic even before the lecture begins
  • Reserved lecture parking

Individual Annual Members

Enjoy the following benefits:

  • Receive one ticket per event (fall & spring) with seating in the reserved member section
  • Access to private receptions before and after lectures, where members enjoy a variety of food, drinks, and plenty of time to dialogue on the topic of the evening

Member Salon

While the lectures cover national and international topics, the Salon is an intimate gathering of members where they engage with community thought leaders on a hyper-local topic. Some prior Salon topics are: “Jewels in the Queen City’s Crown – Outdoor Amenities, Environmental Resources, and Good Stewardship that Make Charlotte a Leading City,” “Meeting Transportation and Infrastructure Needs: How Prosperity and Sustainability Intersect,” “Healthcare in the USA: What Works, What’s Broken, and What Can We Do to Make It Better,” and “Charlotte as a Global City for Food Culture (including an optional Food Tour with Charlotte Historian, Tom Hanchett).”

Member Cocktail

For members and prospective members only, this annual membership party offers cocktails and conversation.

Household Membership for Two Individuals

$1,900 total cost per year | $1,425 tax deductible


Individual Membership

$950 total cost per year | $713 tax deductible

President’s Circle Members

President’s Circle Members enjoy all the Annual Member benefits plus:

  • Individual reserved seating at lectures
  • Invitation to the President’s Circle intimate pre-lecture cocktail reception with the speaker
  • Private reception/book signing with the speaker before the lecture
  • Private car transportation to and from the theatre

President’s Circle Membership

$5,000 total cost per year   |    $4,375 tax deductible
