Residency Requirements
Residency Requirements
At Queens University of Charlotte, we believe that living on campus is an essential part of the college experience. Our four-year residency requirement ensures that you will fully immerse yourself in campus life, build strong connections, and access resources that support your academic and personal success. Living on campus makes it easy for you to be more engaged in the community and more connected to the classroom, which will allow you to feel a stronger sense of what it means to be a Royal.
Who is Required to Live On Campus?
Full-time, enrolled undergraduate students are required to live in campus housing for four years unless you meet one of the following criteria:
- You will live with a parent or legal guardian in Mecklenburg County or a neighboring city/zip code that is less than 30 miles from campus (see approved locations below)
- You will be over the age of 24
- You are married
- You have children living with you
The Benefits of Living On Campus
Living on campus means being at the heart of student life, with easy access to academic support services, leadership opportunities, and social activities. From late-night study sessions in the residence halls to spontaneous hangouts with friends, the residential experience is designed to enhance student success and create a true sense of belonging.
