Byrum Residence Hall

Opened in September 2012 as South Residence Hall, Porter B. Byrum Hall was renamed to honor Queens’ largest donor in 2015.

This upperclassmen residence hall is situated on floors six and seven above the Byrum Parking Deck and offers students more of an apartment living feel. These suites are high enough up that you can see the Charlotte skyline peeking out above the trees from their windows.

Residents live in one of two suite-style rooms, either in singles or doubles. Two double rooms are connected by a common area and four single rooms share one common area. The common areas in these rooms include a small living room area, a full-sized fridge, a microwave, and a bathroom with a separate shower. There is a kitchen area on both floors for students to use, as well as laundry and trash rooms, and multiple study rooms.

Both floors in Byrum are identical. When you step off the elevator you enter the student recreational space and lobby. Then you head down the hallways lined with suites in either direction.

Byrum is located next to the Levine Center for Health and Wellness.

Please keep in mind these are general estimates as room sizes and furniture may vary slightly based on location within the building and furniture replacement. Furniture is measured in inches while room dimensions are in feet.
