A Message from President Daniel G. Lugo

Some people think that you need to have your career mapped out at age 16. I don’t think that’s true. In fact, most of the world’s most successful people do not attain that kind of clarity for many years, if ever. Why? Changes in jobs, careers and even industries have become an unavoidable fact of life.

In today’s world, personal and professional achievement rarely has a straight trajectory. What is far more valuable is a mindset – a mindset that emphasizes flexibility, integrity, critical thinking skills, a strong work ethic, leadership, a global perspective, and an ability to respond quickly to both challenges and opportunities.

At Queens, we nurture this mindset. Our intimate, relational campus and our dynamic Charlotte location enable us to create a set of student experiences that create globally-aware, intellectually agile and civically-minded graduates. Our students enter and continue in the workforce with the ability to create incredible workarounds when others see brick walls.

Whether you are a prospective student choosing to enroll, an alumnus considering how to get involved or a community member looking to connect, I hope you will join us in elevating this magnificent university to the next level. I am passionate about what we can achieve together.

Daniel G. Lugo, J.D.
