As November has begun, the semester’s end is in sight, and students are navigating a busy season of final projects, exams, and preparing for the holidays. It’s an exciting yet sometimes overwhelming time for them, and your support makes all the difference! Here are a few tips to help your student finish the semester strong:
Encourage Self-Care: Remind your student to make time for rest, balanced meals, and movement, all of which can improve focus and resilience.
Offer Academic Encouragement: Suggest they visit campus resources like The Center for Student Success, study groups, or quiet study spaces to stay on top of coursework.
Be Their Cheerleader: Celebrating small wins and recognizing the hard work they’re putting in can boost their motivation to keep going.
We hope these tips help make this month a positive one for you and your student!

Scoring Big: Inside the Sport Management Program’s Hands-On Learning and Super Bowl 59 Adventure!
The Sport Management Program at Queens is dedicated to combining academic rigor with invaluable hands-on experience. We continuously develop new courses and programs to enhance our students’ learning outcomes, ensuring they’re prepared to succeed in the competitive sport industry. Each year, our students connect with over 50 sport industry professionals through networking events, a guest speaker series, experiential learning requirements, and active involvement in the Sports Business and Marketing Club.
We’re especially excited to share that this year, 11 of our students will have the incredible opportunity to work behind the scenes at Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans! Locally, our students have also been engaged in unique experiences, such as working at Bryce Young’s (Carolina Panthers) Football Camp, assisting with marketing activations at Charlotte Motor Speedway and Bank of America Stadium, volunteering with Carolina Ascent FC, and attending a Sport Management Symposium.
These experiences not only build professional networks but also give our students a competitive edge as they apply their classroom knowledge in real-world settings.
