Living on campus means being a part of a close-knit community. Queens values on-campus living so much that it has a 90+ credit residency requirement. We are dedicated to making residence life a great experience. Our Residence Life & Housing staff work hard helping students and creating engaged communities on their floors. Residence Halls

Albright Residence Hall - This hall was renovated in 2017, offering first-year students with new accommodations and common rooms, including a lobby with air hockey and TV, and a courtyard.

Barnhardt Residence Hall - This hall offers first-year students an outdoor courtyard, giving residents a quiet, beautiful place to study, eat or socialize.  

Belk Residence Hall - This hall is for first-year students featuring double rooms with movable furniture and a game room area in the basement.

Hall Brown Overcash Hall (HBO) - Known as HBO, this hall features the new Rex’s Lair, a common area with a kitchen, a billiards table, and theater style TV viewing. Rooms are doubles and triples, with newly renovated bathrooms.

Hayes Residence Hall - First-year and upperclassmen honors students live here in suite-style living with newly renovated bathrooms.

Northwest Residence HallThe corridor-style building can accommodate approximately 120 students with a mix of double residence rooms and triple rooms. Adjoining rooms have a shared bathroom. This residence hall is primarily home for returning students.

Porter B. Byrum Residence Hall - This upperclassman hall offers an apartment-living feel, and some rooms are high enough that students can see the Charlotte skyline from their windows.

Wireman Residence HallWireman is a suite-style, upperclassman hall, offering doubles and singles and a shared bathroom between rooms. Wireman is also home to Greek Village, with each chapter of Queens’ Fraternity & Sorority Life having a meeting space on the lower level. 

Each residence hall offers:

  • Free laundry services 
  • Micro-fridge unit in each room
  • Fully furnished rooms, most of which have movable furniture
  • A/C and heating unit in every room
  • Wi-Fi, Spectrum cable, and Ethernet
  • Gaming Wi-Fi
