Hayes Residence Hall

As one of the oldest working residence halls in North Carolina, Hayes has all the charm you would expect with original doors, floors, and a fireplace in the lobby. Hayes Residence Hall first opened in 1914 and honors Queens Alumna and trustee Mariam Cannon Hayes (Class of 1937). The Lily Long Lobby honors Lily W. Long who served the University for a half century and was President from 1891-1899.

Hayes Hall is home to the Living-Learning Community.

This hall offers suite-style doubles with movable furniture and a closet in each room that you share. Every room connects to another room through a shared, recently updated bathroom.

The 70 residents of Hayes are supported by two Resident Assistants (RAs) who also live in the building.

Hayes is on the Residential Quad near Queens Hall.

Please keep in mind these are general estimates as room sizes and furniture may vary slightly based on location within the building and furniture replacement. Furniture is measured in inches while room dimensions are in feet.
