How to Support Your Student

Parents and families play a vital role in the career development process. The Vandiver Center works with students to help them define what vocational success looks like to them and create a plan to achieve their post-graduate goals. Successful career planning happens before senior year, so please encourage your student to visit us early and often.

We encourage you to approach career conversations with your student by listening and keeping an open mind to help them find their confidence in the career planning process. We can meet year-round with students in person, virtually, or by phone to meet the method that best suits their learning needs.

Services for Life

Queens alumni receive career services for life and at no cost. No matter where they are in their career, we offer many of the same services offered to students.

First Destination Report

Queens graduates are prepared for success and preferred by employers. Take a look at some of the outstanding spots undergraduate Royals have landed after graduating.

Required Classes

Queens graduates succeed after graduation because they’ve gained the confidence, experience, and resume-building knowledge that makes them attractive to potential employers and graduate programs. Our professional development program creates that solid foundation.

How to Get Involved with the Career Office

There are many ways you can support Royals in their career readiness journeys!

  • As a professional, participate in our mock interview program where students practice interviewing and receive feedback.
  • Hire Queens talented students and alumni for internships and jobs by posting a job on the Handshake Online Job Board.
  • Donate to the Career Closet. Your donations of new and gently worn professional attire will help our students look their best at interviews and professional events.
