College Panhellenic Association Recruitment

We are so glad you have an interest in participating in the College Panhellenic Association Sorority Recruitment process! Joining one of the four wonderful National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) sororities on Queens’ campus can enrich your college experience, as well as provide lasting memories and lifelong connections. Queens University of Charlotte prioritizes a values-based recruitment method for sororities. This amplifies the focus of recruitment efforts on authentic conversations about the sorority experience.

Fall 2026 Partially-Structured Recruitment (PSR) will occur during September 19-27. PSR allows flexibility for both potential new members (PNMs) and active chapters to get to know each other during Open House Events and still provides support during Invitational Events and Bid Day. Bid Day is scheduled for Sunday, September 27.

How Does Recruitment Work?

Recruitment is based on a mutual selection process determined by the preferences of the chapters and the PNMs. Mutual selection means that at the end of the Open House Round, while PNMs are ranking which chapters they would most like to revisit for Invitational Events, the sorority chapters are also selecting which women they would most like to invite back. Students will find out in the morning of the Invitational Events which chapters they will be visiting that day.

• During the Open House Round, PNMs must visit each of the four chapters at least once to be eligible for Invitational Preference Round (Pref).
• In the Invitational Preference Round, PNMs will visit up to two chapters for 60 minutes each.

PNMs must meet with the Fraternity and Sorority Life Advisor (FSA) after Open House events have concluded to submit initial rankings. Additionally, they will meet with the FSA after their Invitational Round events to submit final rankings and sign the Membership Recruitment Acceptance Binding Agreement (MRABA). Recruitment Counselors will be in contact with PNMs regarding Bid Day Celebrations.

Before the beginning of PSR, there will be opportunities for PNMs to meet and learn more about the Panhellenic community, including the Clubs and Orgs Fair hosted by Student Engagement, PNM Orientation & Panhellenic Panel, and Lodge Tours. These events are focused on introducing PNMs to the community and teaching them what sorority life is all about! For more information about events, please see the event information below.

Recruitment Counselors

Every woman who registers and is eligible for recruitment will be connected with a Recruitment Counselor. As part of the Panhellenic Executive Board and Recruitment Team, Recruitment Counselors (RCs) are members of the Panhellenic community who work with PNMs throughout the recruitment process.

Leading up to recruitment, registered PNMs will be contacted by an RC who will share recruitment information, answer questions, and be a friendly face as they gear up for coming to campus in August. PNMs are welcome to talk to any of the Recruitment Counselors at any time during the Primary Recruitment period to discuss questions, concerns, or anything that’s on their mind as they experience the process.

Recruitment Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible to participate in Panhellenic Recruitment, students must:

1. Be enrolled as a full-time student at Queens University of Charlotte.
2. Be in good standing with the university (not on academic or disciplinary probation).
3. Meet the minimum GPA requirements of the respective governing council and/or organization. The College Panhellenic Association at Queens has determined that all undergraduate female students who have obtained at least a 2.50 cumulative grade point average are eligible to register and participate in sorority recruitment.
   • For first-year students, their high school GPA upon graduation will be used to determine eligibility.
   • For upperclassmen and transfer students, their cumulative GPA from Queens/their previous institution will be used to determine eligibility.
   • Sororities may have a different GPA requirement for affiliation.
4. Complete the registration via Queens Engage using your Queens email. Registration is open as of May 1 and will close on September 25. All PNMs wishing to participate in the remainder of the primary recruitment process need to be registered.
5. PNMs must visit each of the four chapters at least once to be eligible for Invitational Preference Round (Pref). The events schedule can be found in the Potential New Member Information Packet and further on this webpage.

Recruitment Registration

Registration is kept open to allow PNMs to join throughout the Open House Rounds, however, PNMs must complete the registration form by 7 p.m. on September 25 to be eligible to continue in the Primary Recruitment process. In addition to registering, PNMs must attend at least one Open House Event hosted by each chapter, four events in total, to be eligible to continue in the Primary Recruitment process.

Potential New Member Bill of Rights

The Potential Members’ Bill of Rights is determined by the NPC Unanimous Agreements. If at any point a potential member feels as though any of the rights below have been compromised, they should contact a Recruitment Counselor and/or the Fraternity and Sorority Advisor.

• The right to be treated as an individual.
• The right to be fully informed about the recruitment process.
• The right to ask questions and receive true and objective answers from recruitment counselors and members.
• The right to be treated with respect.
• The right to be treated as a capable and mature person without being patronized.
• The right to ask how or why and receive straight answers.
• The right to have and express opinions to recruitment counselors.
• The right to have inviolable confidentiality when sharing information with recruitment counselors.
• The right to make informed choices without undue pressure from others.
• The right to be fully informed about the binding agreements implicit in the acceptance card signing.
• The right to make one’s own choices and decisions and accept full responsibility for the results of that decision.
• The right to have a positive, safe, and enriching recruitment and new member experience.
