New Student Information & Resources

We’ve compiled some important resources to help make your transition to college as smooth as possible.

The Honor Code

Queens expects students to act honorably and responsibly in all aspects of life, both on and off campus. The Honor Code is based on the principle that a spirit of trust should pervade all aspects of student life. Its essence is that any violation of the Honor Code is an offense against the community. Students are expected to comply with all policies and expectations outlined in the Honor Code. Additional policies are outlined in the Student Handbook.

Immunization Requirements

To keep our community safe, it is important that all students comply with required immunizations. Immunizations are collected through the Dean of Students Office. Documents or questions about immunizations can be sent to immunizations@queens.edu.

Per North Carolina General statute 130A-155.1.(a), all students attending a college or university must present a certificate/record of immunization. We are required to collect this from all new (undergraduate and graduate students) when they enroll each fall.

The immunizations required include:

  • Tuberculin Skin Test (PPD) or Completed Tuberculosis Screening Questionnaire
  • Td/Tdap (3-Doses)
  • Polio (3-Doses)
  • Hepatitis B (3-Doses)
  • Meningococcal ACWY or ABCWY (2-Doses)
  • MMR (2-Doses or titer blood test if you have had any of the following diseases: measles, mumps, or rubella)
  • Varicella (1-Dose or titer blood test if you had the chicken pox disease)

Vaccination records and the completed tuberculosis screening must be submitted via the link provided in your enrollment checklist by August 15 (Fall admits) or December 15 (Spring admits).

Nursing students must submit a completed tuberculosis screening and immunization records in addition to any requirements of the School of Nursing. Failure to do so will result in fines and/or penalties.

If you are an international student, your immunizations records must include an English translation.

If you are seeking a religious exemption, please email immunizations@queens.edu to request a form.

To ensure the safety of our campus for all students, failure to submit your immunization records by this deadline will result in a $100 fine and/or additional penalties.* Students who deposit to Queens after August 1 or December 1 will not be subject to the fine but must complete their immunization requirements within the first 30 days of the semester or may be subject to other penalties.*

All immunizations can be provided by the Queens Health & Wellness Center. Appointments can be made 24/7 by visiting MyAtriumHealth.org (online scheduling available after your first visit), or by calling the health center at 704-337-2220.

Please note that the Queens Health & Wellness Center does not collect immunization records, so you still must submit records to immunizations@queens.edu.

*North Carolina State Law dictates non-compliant students, regardless of deposit date, be removed from class if compliance has not been met within 30 calendar days of the first day of class.
